What you can expect from learning Kung Fu in China

Up to 12 weeks expect the following:

· Increased health & fitness

· Basics in which ever style you choose

· At least 2 fist forms

· Basic hard Qigong (optional)

· Basic Mandarin (optional)

Although you can learn a lot in a couple of months each style can take years to master. You may be able to pick the movements fast, but really you should be aiming to perform the movements correctly especially in styles like XingYi & Taiji Quan. Here it is important to have the correct body alignment in order to reap the full benefits.

If you would like to perform hard Qi gong (breaking bricks with your hands etc) in 1 – 3 months it is possible to do some of the basic moves but be warned: in that time but you will still have to train extremely hard to prepare your body.

(One of the very first students here practiced Shaolin & hard qigong for just over 1 month, had little martial arts background and broke an iron bar over his head on his last day of training… Of course this is totally optional!)
